As far as I'm aware it's impossible to beat hard level coms, especially since they break the records on a daily basis. If you've read my Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story review, you may recall on how much I hate elite level button mashing. Don't get me wrong, these mini games are creative on paper, but MANY of them consider constant button mashing in order to win. Great mini games like Hexagon Heat, Shell Shocked, & Roll Call. A handful of Mario Party 2's mini-games even made it into the Top 100. Some can become so enjoyable that they are transformed into main games in the future. Here's the deal, mini games offer a nice variety of short instances of joy. The problems mainly lie within most of the mini games. Like Super Mario 64, I don't think its a bad game despite my half & half score. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall, pretty good game that should be left as a memory in the past, and not something to be played and admired over by today's standards. Multiplayer is nothing special if you are playing against a weak human player. Again, the game feels very simple and underwhelming to an extent that it does not have very much appeal.
So, I felt robbed many times when that occurred. Many times you would work sweat to get stars and they would just be taken from some lazy CPU player (usually, Peach). I thought it was funny when you went to Toad to try to delete your game and he kept asking you, like three times, if you were absolutely positive that you wanted your save progress gone. The single-player is short and sweet and gets the job done.
Mario party 2 rom series#
First off, the many of the mini-games were a blast! The title very much represents the series and it certainly put things in the right direction. For today, the game is certainly enjoyable, but too simple for what is desired. Anyway, the game was fun, but shows it has aged. So, I will be reviewing the original due to there not being a place on Metacritic for the Nintendo 64 version. So, I will be reviewing the original due to Mario Party 2 is a game that I have on the actual Nintendo 64 and not on the Virtual Console.
